Edited Photo #2:

For my second edited photo, I wanted to use a one point perspective. I took inspiration from
Edward Burtynsky’s China. He uses one point perspective and has the road, the people lined up, and
even the buildings all focused into the vanishing point. I took a photo from the skybridge, and aligned
the middle of the photo to the middle of the road below. I used the cars, trees, road and buildings to
connect it to the vanishing point. I also tried to play around with tonal adjustments to play with
light and dark. I wanted the branches in the foreground to be highlighted, while having the road and cars
below to be more shadowed. I thought this would help the viewer visualize being high up, looking towards the
vanishing point in the distance. For composition, I tried to use the golden ratio or golden rectangle. The
buildings on either side have more space in the photo compared to the more narrow middle, the road between
the two buildings. I thought the golden ratio would help the viewer focus on the vanishing point of the one
point perspective.
